Built for Hospitals & Clinics

Clinical data is scattered across systems that do not talk to each other. Integration projects take longer than planned and deliver less than promised. We design and implement integrations that reflect how care is actually delivered, not just how the specification describes it.

The problems we hear most often

Healthcare organizations of all sizes face versions of the same problems. The technology is often not the core issue — the challenge is making multiple systems, built at different times by different vendors, work together in a way that supports clinical workflows.

Fragmented clinical data

Patient information is spread across an EHR, a PACS, a laboratory system, and spreadsheets on someone's desktop. Getting a complete clinical picture requires manual effort and introduces errors.

Integration projects that do not finish

Vendors promise a working integration. The project runs over schedule, scope shrinks, and the final result requires manual workarounds that the clinical team absorbs as permanent overhead.

Workarounds instead of workflows

When systems do not communicate, clinical staff build workarounds. Double data entry, printed reports re-entered manually, phone calls to confirm what a system should provide automatically.

How we help

We design and implement integrations that address the root cause, not just the symptom. That means understanding the clinical workflow first, then designing the technical solution to support it. We have worked with hospitals, clinics, and regional health networks across multiple countries.

HIS Integration

We design and implement service and data integrations between hospital information systems: EHRs, PACS, LIS, pharmacy systems, scheduling, and more. We work across HL7 v2, FHIR, and DICOM, and handle the full scope — interface design, message format, data mapping, testing, and go-live support.

Clinical Database Design

We design clinical data repositories that store patient information in a structured, standards-compliant format — queryable, shareable, and capable of supporting clinical analytics. We specialize in openEHR-based repositories and have built several that are in production use.

Data Mapping & Migration

Consolidating data from multiple systems into a common repository is one of the most error-prone parts of any integration project. We design the mapping rules, validate data quality, and manage the migration process — with audit trails and rollback plans for when things do not go as expected.

Architecture Assessment

Before starting a major integration or system replacement project, it is worth understanding what you have. We assess your current HIS architecture, identify integration gaps and risks, and produce a prioritized roadmap for improvement — one that can be executed in phases without disrupting ongoing operations.

20+ years of clinical IT experience

CaboLabs has been working on healthcare information systems since 2006. We understand what clinical staff actually need from their systems, what integration specifications leave out, and where well-intentioned projects tend to go wrong. We have worked with hospitals, regional health networks, and clinics across Latin America and beyond. Our work includes projects that are still in production today.
